Scenario

Ever since was a little girl, when someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up my answer was always the same.. I want to be a teacher! As I grew up that was one thing that never changed.  I have always had a love for education and for children.  I always looked forward to going to school because I could not wait to learn something new.  I always had great teachers that were role models for me.  They always pushed me to do my best and were always there for me.  I cannot wait for the day when I become one of these teachers for students of mine.  I want change the lives of my students and mold them into the outstanding students that I hope they will be.  I think my biggest challenge will be that I care too much about my students.  I want them to get the best education possible, but I feel like I might focus on the student more than the curriculum.
In three to five years I see myself teaching, I'm just not sure where I will be.  After I graduate I want to teach out of the country for a few years.  I want to give an education to underprivileged students in countries where education is not readily available to them.  After I do this, however long that will be, I see myself teaching Kindergarten in Medicine Lodge, Ks where I grew up.
I think technology can impact students in multiple ways.  For children with disabilities it brings many options that were not available in the past.  For students with hearing problems, they can get their notes online. For students with communication problems, they can type on a computer what they need to say.  For students with reading problems, they can listen to their work on the computer.  There are just so many accommodations that can be made possible with technology.  I have been impacted with technology just by learning all the different resources that I can use online.
I will definitely encourage my school to use technology all the time.  I think it would be great to have all the teachers at my school attend a forum about technology in the classroom.  If everyone is up to date with technology we could help our students learn in new and exciting ways.

My Wow Moment

My wow moment in this class this semester would have to be my own website, I mean seriously.. I HAVE MY OWN WEBSITE!

I still think it is pretty crazy that I was able to make a website, learn about a bunch of new resources and load them all up on my website in just the short time that this semester took.  Natalie's Education Place is a website that is full of resources that I plan on adding more and more projects to throughout the coming semesters.  I want to keep my website up to date and really utilize it.  I think it would be a great thing to have when I have my own classroom.  I can use my site to keep parents informed and have examples of projects that were actually doing. I will have links and resources available to my students and their parents.
